Henry and Frances Zittrower make an unplanned trip to the states, but looking back we now see it was HIS plan in which the trip was an awesome experience. And reminds the both us, HIS ways are different than ours, based upon our 40 month journey in Roatan our understanding of this is improving. Also He confirmed to us, HIS plans are so much better than ours. THANK YOU JESUS SO MUCH!

This state side visit began with the obedience of the two people in the photo above, Ron and Jamie McDonald from Show Low Arizona. They have been to Roatan Honduras on short term mission trips and God is messing with the both of them regarding Roatan. How this trip began; they heard about Engineer Students from Northern Arizona University {Flagstaff Arizona} looking for a project they could complete for their Engineering studies. The Colonia in Roatan Honduras is in desperate need for a Sanitation System. Ron and Jamie contacted them about the Colonia in Roatan Honduras, asking the students about this project and they gave the right answer by saying YES. Ron and Jamie helped raise financial support for the group of students to come to Roatan Honduras. David, Michael, Stephanie, and Laura, worked very hard in the rain to gain an understanding of the Colonia’s Sanitation needs providing excellent report on the condition of the Colonia and a recommendation.

This group found that the BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand) determines the impacts from cesspits and other debris on the soil and water in the community. The high BOD loading indicates that direct sewage discharge in to the stream may be occurring and that the existing cesspits are not providing adequate in subsurface treatment. Test results showed that the stream has a BOD with both fecal coli form and E, coli present in the water. And kids during the rainy season will play in the streams.

Our state side visit allowed us to attend a meeting at Northern Arizona University with the Student Engineer leaders and some of the students. Below is a couple of photo's of the people attending the meeting.

Meeting with Northern Arizona University of Engineers

In the photo to the left is: Trey Vick (contractor), Stephen Mead, PhD (interim Chairman), Mcwane Fairley (Treasure of EMB), Paul Trotta, PH, D,.P.E. (Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering), Shannon Clark (Facility Engineer of the cocoinino national forest service).

Ron and Jamie McDonald (The ones that began the connection to the Colonia), Stephanie Lindstrom (student of the Design Group), Henry and Frances Zittrower (Living Water 4 Roatan), Dr. Patrick Connell (serves at the Clinic Esperanza providing health care to the Colonia).

Stephen and Paul from NAU have a desire to begin a successful project to help with Poor Countries by providing improved water and sanitation systems. Their goal, ensure the project they invest in will be sustainable. LW4R shared with them the success we experienced with leaders in the Colonia that have effectively managed the water system for over 2 years.

The meeting resulted in W4R next steps; complete the EWB form for approval, once approved EWB will send down a group to complete a detail assessment and recommendation for a Sanitation system. Mcwane Fairley the Treasure for Engineers Without Boarders will lead a group during the first quarter of next year.

Ron and Jamie drove us to Gallup New Mexico where the Tichi family was waiting to take us to their home in Durango Colorado.

LW4R Speaking in the USA

Kerry, Mike, Frances, Jamie, Ron,

in Gallup New Mexico. The Tichi

family sensed God’s call to leave

home for 3 years to take family

and work alongside of LW4R

helping with the needs in the

Colonia.

Another God timing in our state side visit, the Tichi’s would be conducting their fund raiser at their church the weekend during our stay in Durango. We had the great opportunity to meet this wonderful church family that will be sharing their special family with LW4R in Roatan Honduras for 3 years.

The room where many friends will come to provide financial and spiritual support, this is Mike and Kerry Tichi church in Durango Colorado.

Our visit in their home was a God sent as we left with an improved understaning of each family. One thing we learned about this family, they eat way to healthy for me. But seriously, would watch as Kerry would get the kids ready for school, while they are eating she would have their devotion. Then pray with the kids. One of the devotion resulted in what would happen if Jesus came to your room, would it be clean? Lilly, response, I would need a few minutes to clean up the room.

Mike and Kerry, along with Luke, Lilly, Levi will be attending language school beginning January 2010. They will graduate from language school in April coming directly to Roatan.

Please pray for Mike, Kerry, Luke, Lilly, Levi Tichi, keep up with them on their website: www.care4communities.com

We now have traveled to Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, now the Tichi family drives us several hundred miles to Albuquerque New Mexico so that we can take another plane ride to Houston Texas.

This is where we would spend a couple of days with the Vick family. This family messed up and came to Roatan for a 5 week vacation, now finding God sending them back for a longer vacation.

Wiley, Trey, Laney, Frances Anna, Henry, Connie, and Parker Vick. They can be found on the Vick 6 blog.

The Vick family reminds me of where God’s word in Isaiah 6:8  says; ALSO I HEARD THE VOICE OF THE LORD, SAYING: “WHOM SHALL I SEND, AND WHO WILL GO FOR US?” THEN I  SAID, HERE AM I! SEND ME.”

They will be coming to Roatan Honduras listening for that still small voice and following where God leads. Please join Frances and I as we pray for the Vick family. I remember that God orders our steps, please join us as we pray for God to provide the direction for this family.

Trey, is not staying still, while we were in the states meeting with the Engineers Without Boarders in Flagstaff Arizona, he flew from his home in Texas to Flagstaff. He attended the meeting at Northern Arizona University to understand more about the Sanitation system for the Colonia.

God blessed us so much as we stepped way out of our comfort zone, staying in people’s home we did not know that well and depending on them to take us several miles many direction.

Ron and Jamie McDonald, thank you so much for the several hundred miles you guys drove us, and allowing us to feel at home in your home. You are very special people. Thank you to your Pastor for giving us the great opportunity to share about LW4R. Also we were blessed by your Sunday School class providing a special lunch at a beautiful park. Jamie, still thinking about that special place you took Frances and I for lunch..WHAT A GREAT VIEW.

Mike and  Kerry Tichi, asked us to join them in their home for one week, following a several  hundred mile drive to pick us up. What a blessing we received from our stay with this family.. And Luke, Lilly, Levi you guys were very special as we had the opportunity to get to know you guys better. Thanks also to your Pastor Bill and Valarie, Mike and Kerry, you guys are blessed with people that are sensitive to God’s direction for HIS church.

Trey came about one hundred miles to pick us up at the airport and what a great time we had getting to know Trey, Connie, Anna, Wiley, Parker, Laney Vick. Anna, still remember the day you came home from school and immediately began helping with the food. And what a great salad you made. And Connie, Frances made the comment that you guys had church while Trey and I went taking care of business. Also Trey, not sure you know this, but when the gas gage says no gas, you should never think it does not  mean that…Well I do not want anyone to know you ran out of gas on a busy highway while  it was raining…I promise to keep this between us.

We returned home to Roatan and found where Myra Brock from 1st Baptist Live Oak had lead a group . We returned home to Roatan and found where Myra Brock from 1st Baptist Live Oak had lead a group

We returned home to Roatan  and found where Myra Brock from 1st Baptist  Live Oak had lead a group to gather up support to purchase shoes and send them over for the kids living in the Colonia. We had a great experience giving out the shoes to these very special kids as you see in these photos.

Ashley Dayana moving to her new home! . Moving to the new home in the Colonia Policarpo Galindo, Roataan

We also returned home to a very sad day as our dear family that have been with us most of the time we have lived in our home in Roatan will be moving to their new home. Ashley, is helping with move, as is Rosa and Elias.

.

This photo shows the location outside their home, next photo shows inside their new home. Our lives have been impacted by this family, as we look back over the previous couple years they were very instrumental in LW4R Ministry. Elias helped in the laying of pipes throughout a portion of Policarpo, then set up the process for distributing water to the several hundred houses, trained the people how to effectively distribute the water and how to maintain the system. Rosa helped in organizing the process for collecting the monthly water fee where the books could be easily audited. She then trained Fanny from the Colonia and Fannnie now has been working this process for over one year. Then Elias has helped with the updating LW4R website, also with the newsletter. He has helped in the past with translating for teams.

And then there is Ashley Dayana  Mejia Calero, she was Gods angel to Frances and I. She would always show up at the right time when it felt like the clouds were falling, here comes little Ashley up the stairs providing us the right hugs and we immediately had a different focus, leaving the  both of us forgetting what had appeared to be a very dark cloud turned into SONSHINE! THANKS ASHLEY!

Where do we go from here; we need prayer warriors praying for God to direct the path of LW4R. We know without HIM, we can do nothing. Please join us in praying for:  old well to be repaired, purchase of land, Soccer Field, Basketball Court, Playground, Community Center, Church plant. Also pray for Tichi, Vick families coming to provide support for the physical and spiritual needs in Colonia.

I HEARD GOD AND DID NOT RESPOND, BUT!

This is a real live testimony recently regarding God speaking very clearly to me and I did not respond. Background, the early part of the year I paid for some materials in Roatan with a state check, I always will balance the check book each month finding that the check had not cleared. Following a couple of months balancing the check book, forgot about the check that had not cleared the bank. Last week, after several months had past, my conscience brought back up the check, my initial rationalization was that the check had cleared. But to my surprise this thought came back up again the next day and I again procrastinated and put it off. Then Sunday morning God brought it back up again this time I was to talk to my wife about it. O.K. we will do it following service, but did not. I then thought that I needed to verify that the check did not clear the bank before bringing it up to anyone.

The next day {Monday} following several months this check had been presented to this company, a call came from the company telling me they found the check and needed to have another check written. WOW! Go ahead God and write this one in the sky for me. What happened, sadly I heard HIS voice and did not respond. But I cannot put into words the spiritual impact this has had on my life. I have received a strong reminder of HIS voice. I am so sorry JESUS, BUT thank you for reminding me of how YOU work in my heart. While I am sad, I am glad, because I look back and have been reminded of how you work in our consciousnesses, thank you JESUS for a strong reminder.

NOW HAS GOD SPOKEN TO YOU THROUGH THIS UPDATE? THEN DO NOT PROCRASTINATE, GO IMMEDIATELY BELOW AND RESPOND.

We have many kids, youth, adults, looking for a better way, will you begin providing financial support. The horrific effects of poverty are far reaching causing physical and psychological damage to children. Often robbing them of an otherwise stable future that we often take for granted here at home.

LIVING WATER 4 ROATAN has a great opportunity to make a difference, unfortunately it will take money, we are believing God will make this happen. We have been sharing our hearts, now it is your move.

Thank to you, this little boy no longer has to carry water to his house, so now he will have time to be taught the word of GOD. . Thank to you, this little boy no longer has to carry water to his house, so now he will have time to be taught the word of GOD.

If you will say YES to giving whatever you can monthly, this will provide LW4R with a great opportunity to help this little girl with a much better life ... Thanks to you, this little boy no longer has to carry water to his house, so now he will have time to be taught the word of GOD.

This little one would sure love to have a safe place to go and play with other kids. .

This little one would sure love to have a safe place to go and play with other kids. This little one was waiting to fill up these containers with water, now would be great to have him go to learn about Jesus.

Here is another little one, almost can see him saying, PLEASE HELP! Want you give him a chance to learn about JESUS

THESE PHOTOS TELL YOU A STORY, WE SEE THESE KIDS IN THE COLONIA ALL THE TIME. WE BELIEVE GOD SENT US TO SHOW AND TELL YOU. WE ARE SO CLOSE TO BEGINNING THE NEXT STEPS WHERE GOD IS LEADING US. THAT IS: LAND THAT WILL PROVIDE KIDS WITH A PLACE TO PLAY TOGETHER, LEARN TOGETHER…

EPHESIANS 4:13 – TILL WE ALL COME TO THE UNITY OF THE FAITH AND OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE SON OF GOD, TO A PERFECT MAN, TO THE MEASURE OF THE STATURE OF THE FULLNESS OF CHRIST.

“UNITY OF FAITH”  Oneness and harmony among believers is possible only when it is built on the foundation of sound doctrine.
